Shaykh Ibrāhīm Niasse (d. 1975) read the whole Qurʾān aloud at Medina Baye over fifty-six sessions between ẓuhr and ʿaṣr in Ramaḍān 1383/1964, and his students wrote those sessions down as Fī Riyāḍ al-Tafsīr. The āya above is Warsh ʿan Nāfiʿ, the rasm of the printed edition. The root behind each underlined word comes from a Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim corpus, realigned to this Warsh text word by word; 125 of the 6,236 āyāt differ in word count between the two riwāyāt, and those were aligned rather than assumed. كل أحد يقدر أن يقول ما يحاكي القرآن. قال له إذا نشرع في شيء يشبه القرآن، نصف أنا وأنت جهنم: جهنم خلق عظيم واسع يسع كثيرا من خلق الله. نصفه نحن بعبارتها فكتب الآمريكي: جهنم خلق واسع ياكل كذا من الملايين. جهنم خلق كذا، كتبوا كثيرا من العبارات إلى عشر عبارات، قال له أين هذا من قوله تعالى «يَوْمَ يَقُولُ لِجَهَنَّمَ هَلِ اِ۪مْتَلَأْتِ وَتَقُولُ هَلْ مِن مَّزِيدࣲۖ» أسلم الآمريكي وقال إن القرآن معجز حقا ما قدرنا أن نقول شيئا يقارب هذا. إن اللٰه تبارك وتعالى خلق جهنم ووعدها أن يملأها من الجبابرة والملوك، وخلق الجنة ووعدها أن يملأها من الضعفاء. اشتكت الجنة قالت: ملأتني بالضعفاء قال أنت رحمتي أرحم بك وجهنم عذابي أعذب به، وكلتاكما لها ما يملؤها، فلا تزال جهنم هكذا كلما ألقي فيها فوج يقول الجليل «هَلِ إمْتَلَاَتِ وَتَفُولُ هَلْ مِ مَزِيدٍ» حتى يضع الجبار قدمه على جهنم فتقول قط قط قط معناه كفى 1 (وَأَزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٌ) قربت فيرونها (هَذَا مَا تُوعَدُونَ) في الدنيا …
